The Serenity Prayer

The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
If I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.
-Reinhold Niebuhr

There are no guarantees in life; neither happiness nor sorrow, neither riches nor poverty, neither love nor loneliness. No matter what happens to you in this life, your one and only lasting desire should be -that your inner core shall prevail.

Wealth is a result of a lifestyle of hard work, perseverance, planning, and, most of all, SELF-DISCIPLINE

Non-zero day~ do something no matter how significantly small towards accomplishing your goals and dreams in life; every single day.

I came across this great blog which talks of living a purposeful life and being aware of every minute of your existence noting that you need to give the world your true self and that the only thing you should fear is fear itself.
The blog is about doing what really matters to you.
In one of the articles in the blog, the blogger says that you need to ensure that every day you do one thing towards the success of your goals and dreams. If you procrastinate and push things forward, you will be huddled with feelings of frustrations, insufficiency and even giving up.
On the contrary, when you purpose to do one thing everyday, you will get satisfied and would want to do more the next day.
She notes 3 important things:
1. Make it in you to have a non-zero day. Have a non-zero system.
2. There are three yous and one bestfriend. That is you in the past, you in the present and you in the future.
Be thankful to the old you of yesterday for decisions that you make and work for the future you, your bestfriend.
The cycle of doing something for someone else (future you) and thanking someone for the good in your life (past you) is key to building gratitude and productivity.
3. Exercise and books
Read 7 habits of highly successful people. Read “Emotional Intelligence”. Read “From Good to Great”. Read “Thinking Fast and Slow”. Read books that will help you understand.

4. Forgive yourself

And at the end of it, we need to have faith in what we need to achieve in life and to believe in ourself.

Identifying who you are ~Wealth is meaningless compared to how much people appreciate you.

A good way to find it is to think how you’d like to be remembered. Wealth is meaningless compared to how much people appreciate you.
Identify what you are good at:
So identify what you’re good at, like being able to communicate, or organise.
What are your values:Your values, experience and personality.
What do you love doing, and would do every day, if money weren’t an issue.
Think about what you really care about
What have you achieved that you’re proud of?
What you do that’s so absorbing it seems effortless.
